Frequently Asked Questions

Maximum Stays

The maximum length of stay for the Lakehouse is 4 nights.

Minimum Stays

The minimum stay for the Lakehouse is 2 nights.

Heat

The Lakehouse is warmed by two electric wall heaters, a heated towel rail and has an optional wood (log) burner. Unless you would like to light the wood burner, you shouldn’t have to worry about changing the temperature at all. The electric heaters are set at a comfortable 20 degrees and are thermostatically controlled, so will come on and off to keep the Lakehouse at a consistent temperature.  To save energy, the heaters are fitted with an ‘open door’ automatic switch off, which means that should you open the doors, the heaters wont attempt to maintain the temperature until the space is enclosed again.

If you do wish to increase the temperature, you will find a + and – sign on the right hand edge strip of each heater, you can press these to select your desired temperature.

The Log burner is supplied with firelighters, kindling, a basket of wood and some matches.  It will have been left with the vents open and ready to start.

Water

The Lakehouse runs on it’s own hot water boiler (similar to those in a small house). The tank should be plenty large enough to supply you with all of the hot water that you need. Please do keep in mind, the bath can take some filling, so if you empty the tank, it will refill and heat automatically, however you may just need to wait a little while for it to do so.

The Copper Bath

What could be more wonderful than a hot bubble bath under the stars? I was so excited to add our amazing copper bath to the Lakehouse.  Copper is not only beautiful, it’s also naturally antibacterial, so for an outside tub was a perfect choice.  Of course as a natural metal, it weathers and tarnishes, however it is cleaned after every stay and polished every month so you can rest assured any knocks, marks or wear are just part of its beauty.

The Kitchen

We have provided a well equipped Kitchen space where we hope that you will be able to store and prepare food.  Plates, pans, cooking utensils, plus washing up items are all provided. If you need anything that’s not provided, feel free to ask and we will supply it if we can.

Music

The Lakehouse has a Wifi speaker next to the bed. Instructions for how to use it are set out in the Guest Book in the Lakehouse.

Use of Bikes

We have provided a couple of bicycle’s for you to enjoy a ride around the surrounding countryside, or perhaps even a little trip up to the pub for some lunch or dinner. Use of the bicycle’s is at your own risk.

Fishing

Fishing is not permitted in the lake unless agreed and paid for separately. To discuss a fishing package, please contact Sally on 07795435777

Animals

At Coddington Mill we love animals.  We have raised the hens and ducks here at the Mill, and we have several other furry and feathered friends that you may see wondering in the grounds. Please don’t feed the animals any scraps of food, as we need to control what they eat to keep them fit and healthy.  We may have provided some duck treats, feel free to throw these to the ducks if you wish.

 Consumables

For your comfort whilst staying at The Lakehouse, we supply the following complimentary items:

  • A basket of logs, kindling and eco friendly firelighters inside the Lakehouse, with additional logs outside near to the outdoor oven.
