About Us
We are Sally & Matt and in August 2019 we purchased Coddington Mill. The house had been on the market for over five years and as a listed building, within a conservation area, was a pretty daunting project to us. Despite the risks, we fell in love with The Mill, its beautiful gardens and the surrounding area and decided to jump in with both feet and have taken on a 10 year restoration project.
Although there’s lots to do (I mean we literally hardly know where to start) we both stood on the deck of the little hut on the edge of the lake and realised what a magical place The Mill’s Lakehouse could be.
So with a million other things we ‘could’ have done to our home, The Mill, we spent 6 months renovating and spending all of our pennies creating a unique retreat at The Lakehouse.
Your stay at The Lakehouse will help us to renovate Coddington Mill. We hope you will fall in love with this special little retreat and will return again in the future and follow the changes we have been able to make.
So far guest stays have enabled us to have The Mills external brickwork repointed, new guttering and repairs and painting to the windows. After 3 years we are now watertight!...so it’s on to the inside next.

Coddington Mill closed as a commercial Mill in 1978 and was sold for conversion to a family home.
Today The Mill is home to us and our growing collection of animals!
